About Us

In October 2002, after extensive travels, we realized how fortunate we were to see something different and be exposed to new ideas. In the end we realized most people were thirsty for some new perspective and just not given the opportunity to explore new ideas. Our solution was to create a store and gallery that provides well-priced, unique, and high-quality items to the community, while also supporting local and independent artists.
As artists ourselves, we want to give local and global artists a platform to express their true talent. Why buy a boring t-shirt from _____ (fill in the blank), when you can buy something unqiue, while also supporting independent artists and your community! We are proud to say that Retail Therapy has been up and running since April 2003.

The Gallery
The back portion of the store is a gallery that exhibits art in an open and inviting environment. Monthly rotating art shows keep people excited and intrigued, as well as educated about cultures and ideas that would normally be out of reach. We break the stereotype of the stuffy, snotty, and sterile gallery space, allowing access to a greater number of people. The format we have chosen is right for the times, and is inspired to foster understanding and positive change across local and global communities.

Target Market
Many people ask us what age group Retail Therapy caters to. You don't have to be 18 to look good, just ask our mom! Age has no limit at Retail Therapy. Our customers range from age 15 - 65.

What's with the name?
It was a cold fall day in October '91. Wazhma and her friend, Beth, had a bad day (oh, the dramas of high school!), so they went underwear shopping. This outing soon became a ritual, known to them as retail therapy. That experience is just one of the many that have inspired this shop. All items are hand-selected and chosen based on the ability to make people feel good inside and out.

A Word of Thanks
We'd like to give a special thanks to our parents, friends, and loyal customers for making this store a success. Thanks!!
